Craig "DOC" Carson CFI / CFII / MEI / ATP Craig “Doc” started his flying career with a birthday discovery flight in 2007 and hasn’t stopped flying since. He acquired his first aircraft in 2008, a Cessna Skyhawk 172 N957ES. He continues to use this aircraft for personal flight and instruction to this day. In addition to personal flying and instruction he uses the Volar aircraft to provide medical care in his clinics throughout Oklahoma. He is ATP rated and typed in 5 different types of aircraft, including King Air, Citation Mustang, Phenom 300, Citation 525 series, and Citation Sovereign Jets, which he loves to fly “anytime they let me”. Doc understands the unique needs of Flying Professionals and invites you to, “Come fly our planes!” John Harris CFI / CFII / MEI / CSIP / ATP John started flying early in his life but decided to leave S.W. Oklahoma and go to school in Dallas to pursue a career in the new field of 3D Animation. John started Visual Handshake a Production and Post-Production business in Dallas. John worked on numerous projects throughout his prior career utilizing his passion and talents in 3D, Motion Design, Producing, and Directing TV Spots. However, John always wanted to finish getting his Pilot’s License and change his career to become a CFI. John got his CFI but also went beyond his first goal and obtained his CFI-I, MEI, CSIP, AGI, IGI and his ATP. John is Currently Typed in the Citation Mustang. John enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for flight, not to mention he’s pretty salty behind a camera and a computer. Daylen Gipson CFI / CFII Daylen has always had a passion for aviation since a young age. Growing up in an Air Force family he was able to experience aviation to the fullest. With his first discovery flight in 2017, he never stopped flying from there. From Oklahoma, he attends OU studying Aviation Management-Flying Concentration with a projection graduate date of December 2024. He has attained all his ratings from OU including Commercial MEL, SEL,CFI & CFII. When he is not flying he likes golfing, fishing, and officiating the game of basketball. Claire Reader CFI / CFII Claire started her aviation journey with a discovery flight in 2019; originally from Texas, she graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2023 with an aviation degree, as well as Commercial MEL, SEL, CFI, and CFII. She has a passion for connecting with students and teaching others. When she's not flying, Claire likes to read, make art, and go to the gym. Jacob Orgill CFI / CFII / MEI Jacob started his aviation career in 2022 and completed an accelerated program at ATP. What he once wanted to do as a hobby quickly became his desired career path. Jacob now holds his CFI, CFII, MEI and IGI ratings. When he is not in the air, Jacob likes to spend time outdoors with his family on the lake, camping, and doing both water and winter sports. Felix Rivera CFI / CFII / MEI Felix Rivera is a career Naval Aircrewman who is currently serving as a Flight Engineer on the E-6B Mercury (B-707). He is an aviation enthusiast who has earned his Bachelors degree in Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and holds and A&P License. He first earned his Pilot Certificate in 2009, where he fell in love with general aviation and still continues to promote general aviation and the freedom that flying provides. Kenneth "KJ" Terrell CFI / CFII Kenneth "KJ" Terrell started his flying career later in life with a discovery flight in 2017. A lifelong dream became a new passion. KJ quickly progressed through certificates and ratings to become a CFI/CFII. A full-time project manager in the Oil and Gas industry, KJ enjoys finding the overlap of people passionate about Energy and Aviation. Wesley Leard CFI / CFII / MEI Wesley has always had a passion for aviation. He grew up in a military family surrounded by airplanes, sparking his dream to pursue a career in the sky. After earning his PPL in 2013, Wes later achieved his Bachelor of Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, followed by a Master of Systems Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Out of college, Wes accepted a position working as a Human Factors Engineer at Boeing. Wesley holds his CFI, CFII, and his MEI ratings. In his free time, it's all about spending time with his family, friends and training with his Jujitsu team. Micah Richardson CFI Micah Richardson has been in and around airplanes his entire life. He grew up flying with his grandfather and now himself a 3rd generation pilot. Micah is a certified flight instructor for airplane single engine land and lived here in the OKC area for the past 10 years. Outside of flying he enjoys baseball, time with his family, and traveling. Flight Instructors Our flight instructors are highly trained and very experienced professionals holding multiple ratings and thousands of hours of dual given with a strong desire to share that knowledge with their students. But, beyond the years of experience, our instructors at Volar are here because they have a passion for flying and look forward to teaching you the art of flight.
